| So, I'm ashamed to admit it, but I'm a Big Brother 8 addict. Yes, that's right, the reality tv machine has officially eaten my brain. I can quit anytime I want, though-- that's not where I need your help. ;)
See, BB this season has this whole thing where America gets to control a player in the house. America doesn't vote the way I want, though, because obviously I can't be witty and charming to people who have never met me. So I need some help swaying votes... and this is where you come in.
Please, please, please, please PLEASE go to cbs.com tonight after 8PM CST and vote as many times as you can for Eric to evict Dick. PUHLEASE. I'll send you cookies. I'll buy you a puppy.
It's free! It's fun! It'll make me smile!
You're on the honors system, kiddos. I'm counting on you!
EDIT: It's 10:30... do you know where your web browser is? http://www.cbs.com/primetime/bigbrother8/americas_player/ :D

Right quick: John Mayer is still awesome. Just wanted to clear that up.
Oh, and Nashville is pretty sweet, too. Highlight of trip: standing six inches from one of SRV's old guitars. ROCK.
| So, the HP series is over. (Don't fret, spoiler free's the way to be on Erin's webspace.)
I loved the book. I cried, sobbed, wept, blubbered, hiccuped and spent a good deal of time in the fetal position before finishing at 5.38AM today, but I loved every minute of it. I have NO complaints. In fact, I feel pretty damn warm and fuzzy about it.
AAAAND because I was psycho about getting in line hella early, I had the opportunity to buy one of the AUTOGRAPHED special editions-- so I did. BOOM, BABY! It's gorgeous, and will remain in its shrink-wrap until my natural curiosity completely overcomes me and I open it to check out the pretty pictures. That will probably occur within a week from this posting. I have no restraint.
Forgot to take photos of me in my totally awesome HP costume, so you'll just have to trust me when I say that I rocked it. I went for a very punk-rock-esque Hogwarts outfit-- Chucks, holey jeans with frayed edges, white button up under a black cardi and a vintagey Slytherin tie with Death Eater pin. It was comfortable, which is important when you queue up three hours early, right?

| In what will probably be a futile effort to divert my attention from
work-stress during this, my lunch break, I have compiled a list. See, I
was pondering yesterday what my top-ten, best-ever, creme de la creme
songlist would be-- not the songs that I listen to all the time, but
the songs that speak to me on some deeper level than, "Hey, that's got
a funky beat. Here's a mad dance move to go with it." So, here's my
list, in all of its in-no-particular-order and partially-completed
glory.
Damn, It Feels Good to be a Gangsta (Geto Boys) Everybody Here Wants You (Jeff Buckley) Gravity (John Mayer Trio) I Fall in Love Too Easily (Miles Davis) Lenny (Stevie Ray Vaughan) Message in a Bottle (Sting & The Police) Unaccompanied Cello Suite #3 (Johann Sebastian Bach) Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd)
I
know, that's only eight, but that's all you get. And yes, that first
song really does make the cut (it really does feel good to be a
gangsta). | | |
| Overheard in an eating establishment:
Girl 1: "So, like, they have the 4th of July in Britain, right?"
Girl 2: "Well, duh. I'm sure they have SOMETHING to celebrate."
End scene. | | |
